I don't care about photons to photos or anything that originates from data that come from DXO. ![]() Turn down your ISO and UP your exposure time. but I'm going to tell you to what others most likely won't. The 5DMKIII is a great piece of kit, it's getting old, but good kit none the less. ![]() Maybe a modern cooled astro-cam would be much better at controlling noise, but I'm gonna shoot with what I have and hone my skills before I upgrade equipment. But I haven't found any magic way to get better photos other than lots of integration time. I've been shooting at ISO1600 because, according to the Photos2Photons site that's where the read noise sweet spot is. And I shoot in a Bortle 4.5 area with an F5.5 scope. ![]() Like 9 hours of integration time and even then I just start to tame the noise. I've found that I need a _lot_ of integration time with my Canon 5D MkIII.
